FREE Meal Prep Guide: 20 Client-Favorite, Easy Recipes Inside
The holidays are my absolute favourite time of year, but let’s be honest—it can get overwhelming. Between the hustle of shopping, wrapping, hosting, and planning, it’s easy to lose sight of the small moments that make the season truly magical.
For me, joy is often found in the simplest traditions. One of my favourites? Hallmark movies. There’s something about those cheesy, feel-good stories that instantly make me feel cozy and calm. And yes, I watch them with a cup of hot chocolate, complete with a candy cane stir stick—because why not make it extra special?
Sometimes, we think joy has to come from something big—a perfectly planned event, a fancy holiday meal, or elaborate decorations. But in reality, it’s the little moments that stick with us.
The warmth of your favourite holiday drink. The twinkle of lights in the dark. The sound of laughter during family game night. These are the moments that bring us back to the heart of the season.
This December, I’m intentionally slowing down to savour the little things, like:
Watching Hallmark movies under a cozy blanket.
Driving around to see the festive lights in my neighbourhood.
Listening to Christmas music while wrapping gifts.
Sitting by the Christmas tree with a cup of tea and letting the glow of the lights fill the room.
Each of these moments reminds me that joy doesn’t have to be elaborate or perfect—it just has to be noticed.
This season, I encourage you to pause and ask yourself:
What simple moments make you smile?
What traditions or activities bring you peace?
How can you create more space to enjoy them?
The holidays don’t have to be about doing everything. They’re about savouring what matters most—one simple, joyful moment at a time.
