My Whirlwind NYC Adventure: Sisterhood, Secrets, and Spontaneity 🗽
Hey there, Friends!
Guess what? I just got back from NYC on Sunday! Yup, the Big Apple 🍎. I know, I know, it’s Friday and you’re probably wondering why you’re just hearing about it now. Well, the truth is, I was too busy being present to be tied to my phone.
Imagine this: a group of female business owners all gathered together in the heart of New York City, staying at this chic Arlo Hotel in Midtown. We talked business, but we also talked life, love, and everything in between.
Our first night, we hit up Senza Gluten, where I discovered heaven in the form of gluten-free pasta (yeah, you read that right!). And let me tell you, I’ve never seen Halloween quite like it was at Oscar Wilde. Check them out on TikTok to see their recent Halloween makeover.
We also spent an entire day at the luxurious Sojo Spa Club in Edgewater, NJ. If you haven’t been, you need to go. It’s self-care heaven.
From Times Square to a food tour in Greenwich Village, we were on the go! I even went on my first-ever speakeasy adventure at The Woo Woo, where the password was our golden ticket. The vibes were unreal.
The public library and Grand Central Station offered a different kind of beauty. Seriously, the architecture is something to behold. And if you’ve never taken the Staten Island Ferry to see the Statue of Liberty, put it on your bucket list.
To cap off our trip, we saw ‘& Juliet,’ and let me tell you, it was hands down the best Broadway show I’ve ever seen. I was laughing so much, I couldn’t even decide which character I liked best. If you get a chance, it’s a must-see!
Buying a $5 poncho because the rain wouldn’t let up!
Walking in the rain trying to hail a taxi—surprisingly, all empty.
Belgian fries at some cool joint, with pesto dip, of course.
An off-Broadway piano bar where locals got to shine by scribbling song requests on napkins.
It’s not just about the adventure; it’s about being present in it. I barely posted on social media during this trip. Why? Because sometimes you have to put the camera down and appreciate what’s truly happening around you. A friend noticed my social silence and commented, and my only reply was, “I think that’s because I was too busy being present.”
So the next time you find yourself too busy capturing moments, remember to actually live them. After all, isn’t that what life’s all about?
Take care and stay fabulous,
Ali
